Christine Greene and Quinn, 9 year old large pony

Strafford NH

Chris (center) with daughter Emily.
Quinn is a project pony; he is super fun, brave on trails and loves to jump! I have three other horses– my daughters’ mounts Libby (21 year old OTTB), Tucket (18 year old Connemara cross) and Tye Dye, a 31 year old POA.

My favorite thing about trail riding is hanging out with my 2 daughters and enjoying our time together and with the horses. We are lucky having great trails right behind our house and also great neighborhood trails. Our neighborhood is filled with horses so we have a real community of horse people surrounding us which is fantastic.

Alyssa Holdeman and Senegal, 6 year old Oldenburg gelding

Barrington, NH

Though his main job is dressage, Senegal loves hitting the trails with his buddies for Crosstraining! We mainly ride around Deerfield, where he is boarded, but have also joined our neighbors on local trail rides around Barrington. One of my favorite trail riding memories was a trip to Acadia week took years ago. A full week of exploring stunning carriage trails — it was heaven!I’ve been involved in SCETR to gain trail awareness, meet other like-minded riders, and try to advocate for expanded trail access in the State.

Jed Holdeman and Finnegan, 18 yo Haflinger

Barrington, NH

Finn is great on the trail.  He’s fully blind in one eye and mostly blind in the other, but he puts one foot in front of the other and will go through just about anything.  We’ve enjoyed exploring trails near our home, but have to travel for the best trails.  Our favorites over the past few years are Acadia and some riding in Chittenden, VT.

Avis Rosenfield and her draft crosses

Deerfield, NH

I am willing to ride with anyone. My horses are draft crosses and prefer walk, trot and occasional canters. If anyone wants to learn the Bearbrook trails I’m glad to be the tour guide!

I am a volunteer with the state parks div. DNCR. At Bearbrook State Park, I was project engineer for road upgrades, the construction of the mounting ramp & I am working to bring horse camping to this park. I also work on trail projects at Pawtuckaway State Park. I coordinated the removal of a bridge that was structurally compromised & unsafe.

Avis’s horses at home.

I am a member of: Derry Trail Riders, Rockingham Riding Club, GSCA (Granite State Carriage Assoc), ECTA ( Essex County Trail Assoc). Past memberships: AQHA, Piscatqua Hunt, Wentworth Hunt, Essex Hunt

My favorite riding places are: (NH) Bearbrook SP, Pawtuckaway SP, Fremont Rail Trail, Candia Rail Trail, MWW Depot Rd Auburn, Colebrook, NH; (MA) Maudslay SP, Bradley Palmer (RI) Goddard Memorial SP, Arcadia Mgt Area (NY) Otter Creek ( Otter Creek Stables- Glenfield)

Avis (on her black mare) with friends at Pawtuckaway S.P. Her other horse is the paint gelding, who is admiring “his” mare.

Carla Robidas and Joey, 28 years young Arabian

Barrington, NH

I’ve been a Barrington resident for nearly 30 years and have pounded a lot of leather investigating and exploring her trails. I suppose my favorite are the trails along the Isinglass River. My goal for SCETR is to develop an organized system of bridle paths and maintain a strong equine presence along them.
